Vinisce travel guide
Low key and slow key; a great spot for a family holiday. The village is wrapped around a wonderful bay lined with beaches
Vinisce is a small, quite sleepy fishing village 12km east from the famous town of
Trogir and 30km from
Split. Small residential houses and villas have gathered around a beautiful cove with warm and crystal clear sea, among the olive groves. Life goes on at a slow, leisurely pace in Vinisce, and it is a great spot for a family holiday. Vinisce has several markets, bakeries, restaurants, cafe bars, and a small harbour for fishing boats. Anyone interested in having a relaxing time, but within easy reach of several vibrant and historic towns such as
Split,
Primosten and
Trogir, national parks such as
Krka waterfalls near the stunning
Sibenik (50km), would do well to select one of the lovely villas in Vinisce. Vinisce is surrounded by small coves of beautiful pebble and sandy beaches. During summer, the people of Vinisce organize summer festivals where you can sample homemade specialties and wines and enjoy evening outdoor concerts whilst sitting in a harbour side cafe.
You can take part in a variety of sports such as football, basketball, sailing, scuba diving, jet-ski and windsurfing. Cultural sites well worth visiting are the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary (located in Orihovica, founded by the Benedictine monks in 1272), the 18th century Church of St. Antony of Padua and St. John Church (located on the point Ploca) built in 1332.
