Sukošan is a small town seven kilometres to the south east of Zadar located in the Zlatna Luka (Golden Harbour) bay. It is a popular tourist centre and a focal point for yachting due to the large Marina Dalmacija and it location as a good starting point for a sailing trip around the Kornato islands. The town offers a good range of shops, restaurants and other services including a medical centre. The town has several good beaches. The main beach is Dječji Raj(Childrens' Paradise) and as its name suggests, due to its shallow waters and sandy bottom, is a paradise for children. The beach itself is mainly pebbles. There are beachside cafe's, toilet and changing facilities and beach chairs and pedal boats are available for rent. Makarska beach is partially paved and partially pebbles. Close by are public courts for volleyball and basketball. Zlatna Kuka beach is also mainly pebble and has changing and toilet facilities.45 kilometres inland from Sukosan it is possible to go
rafting on the Zrmanja River, one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe passing through breath taking landscapes.
