The main village on Drvenik Veli is Drvenik, population 168. The rest of the island is simply fantastic and non-polluted nature with numerous inlets, sandy beaches and hidden bays. These places are reachable by foot from village centres or by boat. The distance between the islands is only half a nautical mile which gives you opportunity to visit the other island very easily. There are few grocery shops and two restaurants on Drvenik Veli Island.The main industries are agriculture, fishing and tourism. The coastline is constituted of many sand and pebble beaches. One of the most stunning is the Blue Lagoon, great for swimming and visiting by boat. Drvenik Veli island has an area of 12.07 square kilometres and a maximum length is 5.5 kilometres. The sea around the island beautifully clear and clean and the beaches are great for swimming. The coast is rugged and consists of many bays with sandy and pebbly beaches.
