Sumartin travel guide
Delightful village with cafes and restaurants around a pretty harbour. Villas here are a short walk to the village centre and beaches
Sumartin is a fabulous fishing village with quaint cottages, luxury villas, famous bike trails and is an ecological paradise. This is an authentic, 300 year old fishing village settled on the east point of
Brac island, where you can get a ferry to
Makarska on the mainland. It has a pretty harbour and a village square with an old church, a Franciscan monastery and old stone fishermen's houses, a small supermarket and a village store. Nowadays restaurants offer traditional local fare of fresh fish, olive oil and good local wine, home-made pasta, the typical sustenance of the local people. At one end of Sumartin on Puntinak promontory there are some gorgeous and very luxurious villas right on the seashore. You can enjoy a very relaxed holiday with peaceful sandy and pebbly beaches on your doorstep. Sumartin offers some lively events such as the festival called The Lady of the Angels, on 2nd August with street food, singing and dancing.
