OVERVIEW

The village of Tisno is very interesting because one part of it is on the mainland, whilst the other part is on Murter island, so close to the mainland that it almost touches it. This narrow bit of the sea spans only 38 metres, and it is linked with the mainland by a bridge for pedestrians and cars. The village is full of old stone houses, whitewashed, with red roofs and gardens filled with Mediterranean greenery, typical Croatian fishing village.

Wherever you are, you are close to the sea. Walking along the coastline, you pass little tavernas and cafes, family run restaurants serving fresh fish caught by the locals that same day. If you are into sea sports, everything is on offer in Tisno, and you can enjoy the traditional Murter summer regatta. Cultural life is rich, with many classical and pop concerts, and the nearby Zadar, Sibenik and Vodice provide vibrant night life. The villa is on an elevated ground and has a lovely view of the sea and Kornati islands. A few steps lead to the garden and the villa, which is a bungalow style, all on one floor.

Accommodation

The villa is set out on a single floor, which consists of three spacious double bedrooms, a shower room, a bathroom, kitchen, dining room and a sitting room which provides a sofa that can also be used as an extra bed. The kitchen is tiled with typical terracotta tiles and has a rustic country look. It is equipped with a fridge/freezer, cooker with a gas hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave oven and a full set of cooking utensils, plates, cutlery and glassware. A lovely view of the garden and terrace is seen from the kitchen. The kitchen terrace has an outdoor dining table for ten people, and is covered by a pleasant shade made of rushes. The dining room is accessed from the kitchen, and has a large dining table, comfortably siting nine to ten people. In the cool sitting room with a white tiled floor, there is a settee and armchairs and a separate sofa which can unfold into a double bed. There is a satellite TV, HiFi and ADSL internet supplied. The bedrooms have nice wood flooring and antique beds. Two of the bedrooms have their own balconies and sea views. There is plenty of storage, bed linen and towels are provided. The bathrooms are tiled with good quality tiles, one has a shower, whilst the second one contains a bath.

Outside

This villa comes to life in its sunny garden facing the brilliant blue Adriatic sea. The garden is full of flowering plants which provide bundles of colour and scent. You are among pretty roses, colourful geraniums, daisies, oleander trees, palms, lemon and olive trees, pomegranates, bay, rosemary and lavender. On the upper terrace, which is just by the kitchen, there is a barbecue and a dining table for ten for al fresco dining with a view. A few steps lead to the lower terrace with a 6 x 4 metre pool and the outdoor Jacuzzi, with a fabulous view. Whilst swimming, you have a view of the bay and little village cottages lined up along the shore. A nicely paved large sunbathing terrace is provided with sun beds, umbrellas and some tables and chairs, positioned to maximise the enjoyment of the view whilst you sip your morning coffee or your glass of wine during a magical sunset. The sea is very inviting, warm and pleasant to swim in. As it is only 50 metres from the house, it is possible to hop down in your swim suit and have an early morning dip before breakfast. Then stroll to your nearest café along the seashore, or return to the villa for more swimming and sunbathing around the pool.

Reviews

... well equipped and extremely clean.
Villa was well equipped and extremely clean. The outside area was very spacious with gorgeous views and well
planted so very pretty. The owner's mother-in-law lives below the villa and she was very welcoming and
gave us fresh figs and baked goodies a few times during our stay. The only downside was there was no sun after
5pm and you were not allowed to jump in the pool AT ALL as it flooded her patio.

About location:

Gorgeous views, beaches were disappointing (even though we weren't expecting beautiful sandy beaches), KRK
National Park was outstanding and well worth a visit. Tisno was quieter than expected and lacked any form of
atmosphere although enjoyed a fantastic meal at Gina's on the waterfront with very friendly staff and great food.

We had a great time
The villa was in a great position just outside of the main part of Tisno. The decor was a bit dated but the owners relatives were very accommodating. Restaurants were excellent and reasonably priced. We hired a speed boat and had a great time exploring the beautiful coastline and islands of the national park. I would definitely recommend the area. We would like to revisit Croatia.
