OVERVIEW

Luxury family Villa Night Garden with heated pool is a modern holiday home, built in 2024, on Hvar Island. The famous Hvar is one of the most beautiful islands in the world, with 300 days of sunshine guaranteed. Hvar island is an historic gem, with settlements established by the ancient Greeks around the 4th century BCE, and evidence has been found of the presence of Neolithic civilisations from around 3000 BCE. Hvar is steeped in culture and, more recently, has served as a playground for the rich and famous. The wooded island has many gorgeous sand and pebble beaches and is a great destination for adults, teenagers and children of all ages. The nearby string of islands called ‘Pakleni’ offer some of Croatia’s most exquisite restaurants and legendary beach clubs and are undoubtedly a sailing paradise. The Pakleni Islands can easily be reached from Hvar by ferry or boat taxi.

When you arrive in Split, allow some time to take in the magnificent palace built under the Roman emperor Diocletian at the end of the 3rd century CE. This huge antique palace is now filled with bits of renaissance buildings and new houses, forming a fascinating place to see and walk around. You can be in the ancient Roman Forum and at the same time be immediately beside a lovely café or an ice cream parlour. Many fantastic restaurants, galleries, shops, markets and theatres are to be found in Split and nearby, Trogir – a hidden gem on the Croatian coast.

Once on Hvar, enjoy the relaxed island vibe, swim and snorkel in the azure, warm sea and indulge in the freshest seafood.

ACCOMMODATION

This modern 3-bedroom 3-bathroom villa sleeps up to eight guests and comprises 160m² of living space over three floors, on a large 1290m² plot, with a walled garden. It has a hillside position with magnificent panoramic views which turn into a string of coastal flickering lights at night, creating unforgettable magic with a scent of pine and lavender coming from the garden.

Ground floor

The ground floor consists of a large, sunny, open space incorporating a beautiful sitting area with TV, pool table, a long dining table for 10 people and an excellent kitchen, fully-equipped with fridge/freezer, hob, oven, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, stylish dinnerware and cooking utensils. The stunning view of the pool, garden and the sea beyond is mesmerising. On the ground floor is the guest toilet and a utility room equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and cleaning materials. In addition, here is a shower room which is the third bathroom. From the living room several steps lead to the pool terrace.

First floor

The first floor is linked with an internal staircase with the ground floor and comprises three sleek, air-conditioned double bedrooms, two of which have TV sets and gorgeous, panoramic sea views. The beds are super-king, roomy and very comfortable, with excellent bed linen and towels provided.  There is one spacious family bathroom with a shower, situated between two double bedrooms and the master bedroom has its own bath tub with a hand-held shower. In addition, there is a sauna on this floor. Each bedroom offers a beautiful seascape - from the villa, the ground gently dips towards the shoreline, unveiling a stunning view of sapphire water, nearby islands and unforgettable sunsets.

Second floor-roof top terrace

The roof top terrace lends itself to socialising and al-fresco dining under the stars. There is a barbecue and a long table with chairs for all of you to sit together and a few stylish bean bags to relax afterwards… and the view is to die for!

OUTSIDE

The roof top terrace is a real bonus, but the beautiful, large walled garden and the sunbathing pool terrace are the focus point of the outside area. The garden has been planted with palms and olive trees, lavender, rosemary and other Mediterranean plants. Above the pool there is a shaded, raised terrace with outdoor sofa and chairs, a coffee table and more sun loungers.  Just six steps down from the terrace is a refreshing, private, heated swimming pool, measuring 3.8 metres by 7.6 metres and 1.5 metres deep. It is surrounded by a cool stone sun terrace with eight sun loungers and has an outdoor shower. Pool towels are provided and changed twice a week. There is private parking for three cars.

Hvar island

The simplest connection to the island is to fly to Split and connect by ferry from Split ferry port to either Stari Grad (car ferry) or Hvar town (passenger ferry).

The car ferry (Jadrolinja line 635) is a two hour crossing and runs seven times a day in peak season. The last crossing from Split is at 8.30pm although in July and August there is also a 1.30am crossing.   The cost for a car and four adult passengers will be around €65 each way. The fast passenger only catamaran services takes approximatley 55 minutes and arrives directly on the Riva in Hvar town.  There are regular catamaran services provided by Jadrolinija and Kapetan Luka. Refer to their websites for timetables. Tickets on the Kapetan Luka fast catamaran will be around €13.50 a head one way but are cheaper with Jadrolinija.

Another option is to fly to Dubrovnik. From Dubrovnik Airport to Drvenik on the coast road is 145km (two hours 20 minutes drive) and from here there is a ferry to Sucuraj at the east end of Hvar island. The crossing is 35 minutes and the ferry runs 11 times a day with the earliest departure from Drvenik at 5.45am and the last at 10.45pm (Jadrolinija line 632). However we would warn travellers that the 75km road up the island to Hvar town is very narrow and bendy; a slow route and although scenic a difficult drive.

There is a daily crossing to the pretty harbour town of Jelsa on the north coast of Hvar island. This crossing (line 9603 with Jadrolinija) runs once a day leaving Split in the afternoon and stopping at Bol on Brac island en route. The ferry back from Jelsa to Split departs early in the morning so can provide a day trip from Hvar island to Split or for a day on the Golden Horn beach in Bol on Brac island.   A day trip from Hvar to Korcula town is possible on the Kapetan Luka catamaran service which departs daily in the morning and returns late afternoon. Expect to pay around €30 return.

Croatian Villa Holidays can organize private taxi boat transfers from the quay near Split airport to Hvar.  Prices will depend on date, time and the numbers in your party. Crossing time generally about 50 minutes to one hour.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 25 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split although you should allow longer in mid summer.

Dubrovnik Airport

Dubrovnik Airport is located near the town of Cavtat 19km to the south of Dubrovnik. There are direct flights to Dubrovnik from most European countries and from Philadelphia in the USA.

There are bus and taxi services into Dubrovnik centre. A taxi transfer can be expected to cost around 35 to 40 euro one way depending on the time of day and the season and a minibus around 50-60 euros.   A shuttle bus service from the airport to Dubrovnik is 7.5 euro per person each way.

Croatian Villa Holidays can arrange taxi transfers directly to your villa.
