OVERVIEW
Villa Marron is a secluded, new, luxury villa in a superb, private location in the Mediterranean woodland above the Kvarner bay near the town of Opatija. The villa is gated, very private and peaceful. From the garden you can catch views of the Adriatic sea. The 220 square meters villa is built in a modern, luxurious style, keeping just one memory of the past times - The arched brick roof of the old store room which is now turned into a stunning dining area. The style is fresh, bright, cool and uncluttered, with all modern comforts and amenities. A real place to relax and unwind, exploring the 50,000 square metres of the villa's grounds (11 acres).
This luxury Croatian villa is built on a hill above the grand holiday resort of Opatija, the playground of kings and emperors from the bygone era. You are a few minutes' drive from the fashionable Lido beach and many other wonderful local beaches. This is the most famous gourmet region of Croatia, where you will find five star restaurants with exquisite cuisine based on fresh local produce, fish and sea food. The wines are fabulous and regularly win international prizes. Elegant Opatija and nearby Lovran have many boutiques, smart delicatessens, beachside cafes and numerous restaurants, plus a very vibrant night life. The large town of Rijeka is nearby and good for its farmer's market, great fish market, more elegant shops and theatres with an excellent summer programme. In Rijeka and Opatija you will find opera, ballet, pop, dance, water sports, wellness, tennis courts, various culinary festivals, it is a fun place.
The villa is reached by a country road going uphill, coming through the private gate. There is a garage for two cars and outdoor parking for four more cars. A private road leads 360 metres to the front gate of the house.
Accommodation
The villa can sleep six persons in three bedrooms with a further one person sleeping on a sofa bed in one of the double bedrooms. It is arranged on two floors, with terraces and pool in front. Huge grounds provide privacy and around the villa there is 4,000 square metres of landscaped garden, whilst its private woodland spreads further on.
Ground floor
The ground floor comprises an open plan living room with a superb kitchen, stylish dining area and a sitting room opening out onto the large pool terrace. The kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, cooker and hob, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, mixer, lovely new tableware and all cooking utensils. The sitting area has a large, comfortable designer sofa, designer lighting, large satellite TV/DVD/CD player, Sound system, WiFi access. The stunning feature of this space is its centuries old dining room with an arched ceiling made with original old bricks. A modern hand-made oak dining table is a fitting piece for this very stylish living room.
First floor
On the first floor are three spacious, cool bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, each with its own large balcony or terrace and views over the woodland. Two bedrooms have sofa-chairs which can fold out into additional beds. Sumptuous bed linen and plenty of towels are provided and each bedroom has its own smart TV.
Outside
The villa is surrounded by 50,000 thousand square metres of garden and private woodland with natural borders. Immediately around the villa is a landscaped garden of 4,000 square metres, with green lawn and Mediterranean plants. Close to the house is an inviting sunbathing terrace with sun loungers around the beautiful pool. The pool has dimensions of ten metres by five metres (1.2 - 1.6 metres deep) and a counter-current wave. Pool towels are provided. There is a BBQ and a dining table for eight people. From the garden you have a good view of the sea. It is heavenly.
