OVERVIEW
New, luxury, fully air-conditioned villa Azra was built in 2018 to very high specification, with your comfort, your enjoyment of beautiful furniture and wellbeing in mind. Spacious and full of sunlight, villa Azra is one of 15 similar luxury private villas with pools which form an exclusive estate. There are views over the luscious Istrian countryside in this region famous for its award winning olive oil and wine. The restaurants range from friendly pizzerias and country inns to Michelin star establishments which are still reasonably priced. The area is steeped in history, being a part of the Roman empire, invaded by Goths and Slavs, belonging to the Venetian Republic, the Austro-Hungarian empire and finally independent. Wherever you go, you see old castle ruins, even a well preserved Roman amphitheatre in Pula and little inland and coastal towns which resemble medieval Italy. This is reflected in the superb Istrian cooking, based on fresh fruit, vegetables, pasta, fish, fragrant sauces, pizzas, great wines and locally produced steaks. Visit the coastal towns of Pula, Rovinj, Vrsar, Novigrad and Porec and the atmospheric, medieval hilltop towns of Motovun (summer film festival), Groznjan (music events) and Oprtalj (truffles) with high walls, palazzos and cobbled streets.
Outdoor activities of every type are on offer. Just a few kilometres away are water sports in Porec with 22 Blue Flag beaches, the Istralandia water park, the Baredine caves with colourful stalactites, the Dinosaur park (Dinopark), and the Observatory in Visnjan. Ride a bike through vineyards and gently rolling hills, go horse riding, or get a tennis lesson in Umag, where there is also a top notch golf-course. The villa has Italian designer furniture, WiFi and air conditioning throughout. It comprises three stylish bedrooms and three bathrooms in the main house. The fourth and fifth bedroom with bathroom are in a separate garden studio, which is useful if you have grandparents, nannies or teenagers. As a special treat the villa supplies free entrance tickets to the Lanterna beach resort with beach bars, cafes, sun loungers, water sports and tennis available there!
ACCOMMODATION
The main house offers three bedroom and bathrooms and the other two bedrooms are in a separate building in the garden.
Ground floor
The ground floor is a bright, inviting space, with stylish Italian furniture, gorgeous lighting and warm oak flooring or cream tiles. There are two roomy pale blue, three seater sofas and around the large, wall mounted TV set and a stunning round dining table for eight people. The well-equipped cream Italian kitchen has cooking utensils and stylish tableware, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, cooker and hob, kettle, toaster and a coffee machine. The villa has a washing machine, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and a safe.
One double king-size bedroom with a shower en-suite is also on the ground floor. Its walls and bedding in whites and creams make it very restful. When you open your eyes in the morning, you see the sunny pool and patio where you can pop out directly, with your morning coffee!
First floor
Stone steps lead to the first floor which comprises two fantastic bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom with a blue, king size double bed and a walk in wardrobe has a large bathroom comprising a bath tub and a separate shower. The other double bedroom also has a king size double bed (green headboard) and a beautiful shower room. The whole set up is very restful, with lovely bed linen and towels.
The studio bedroom
Villa Azra has a detached building with two studio bedrooms in the garden. These also have king size double beds and shower rooms. These bedrooms are exclusively let together with the main house.
OUTSIDE
The outdoor dining area has a table with elegant chairs for eight people and a gas barbecue. The garden is a great place to socialise around the private pool and barbecue, after a day of activities or just simple leisure by the pool where the pool towels are provided. The private garden and pool are fully enclosed and there is a terracotta brick sunbathing terrace with eight sun loungers and a couple of parasols.
