OVERVIEW
Just 2 kilometres from the sea, the luxurious 5 star private Villa Aldina comprises 263 square metres of living space and accommodates eight people in great comfort and style. Spending a week or two in this elegant and relaxing, private villa will not be enough to do justice to all the wonderful things you can do, see and learn there, especially if you need an occasional day just to soak up the sun around the pool and light up a barbecue. It is perfect for foodies, as the local food is absolutely exceptional and healthy, with award winning olive oils and wines, plenty of fruit and vegetables, and gorgeous grilled fish - plus grass fed steak! Truffles too - the local, wild grown speciality, not to be missed. Within a few minutes' drive you will reach one of the many lovely beaches and your generous host provides you with a free entrance ticket to the Lanterna beach resort. Inland Istria is also easy to get to, and you should include the picturesque hill top towns of Motovun, Groznjan, Oprtalj and Momjan in your itinerary. Active holiday makers will enjoy using the villa's bikes along the famous Parenzana bike trail. There are Baredine and Mramornica caves to explore, a proper observatory in nearby Visnjan (great summer lectures for kids and old kids) and a day trip to the Pula Roman amphitheatre, the 6th largest in the world and nearly 2000 years old. ACCOMMODATION
Ground floor
The villa is arranged on two floors. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor. It is kept in pale, warm tones and is equipped with a comfortable double bed and ensuite shower room. Bedlinen and towels are provided. The bedroom has French doors opening out onto the garden with pool.
A lovely terracotta path brings you to the beautiful entrance resembling a clock tower, and onto the light-filled, polished stone hallway with a bespoke curving staircase. You continue into the open plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen, all furnished with high quality Italian furniture. The sitting area has pale blue velvet sofas and an LCD wall mounted TV, whilst the glass topped wooden dining table is surrounded by eight elegant chairs. Pale grey-blue curtains, cream rugs and chairs, elegant lamps and accessories and the honey coloured wood floor make you feel cosy and relaxed in this gorgeous living area. The beautiful and well equipped kitchen contains a fridge/freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, cooker, hob, toaster, kettle, a set of chef's knives, cooking utensils and excellent tableware.
First floor
The first floor is reached by an elegant staircase, where there are three further double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms or shower rooms. King size beds (160 x 200cm) and plenty of storage wardrobes are provided. One of the bedrooms has a private balcony with pool access via an external staircase (internal stairs also) and reclining chairs. Another bedroom has access to a balcony via French doors. All bedrooms are individually air-conditioned.
OUTSIDE
The villa's garden is surrounded by a laurel hedge and has an 8 by 4 metre swimming pool, 1.3 metre deep. The sunbathing area around the pool has eight sun beds and a parasol. A shaded terrace by the house is used for al-fresco dining, and a gas barbecue is nearby.
