Overview

Villa Basiacchi has been renovated to a very high standard. A lot of the old character and features have been kept and restored but all the luxury of modern living has been introduced. The villa is in a beautiful and peaceful location, surrounded by rolling hills and plenty of greenery. From all angles the views from the villa are uninterrupted. There is a stunning view of the famous hill-top town Motovun. Villa Basiacchi is comprised of 2 villas side-by-side. There is the main house sleeping 8 persons the annex sleeping a maximum of 6 persons. In total, Villa Basiacchi can accommodate 14 people.

MAIN HOUSE (sleeps 8)

Lower ground floor

There is a feeling of grandeur throughout the villa and the lower ground floor especially. The rooms are spacious and classically furnished with high quality furniture. The stone walls are revealed in areas and high wooden ceilings with ornamental lamps hanging down add to the rustic feel of the villa. Many areas to relax with areas of seating scattered throughout the house; armchairs tucked away in the hallways, downstairs and upstairs, and in the dining area. The living room has plenty of seating, being furnished with elegant antique armchairs and a matching sofa. Also, there are beautiful antique chest of drawers, mirrors and cupboards. For entertainment, there is a flat-screen satellite TV, DVD player and stereo. The dining area has seating for eight people on another beautifully designed table. There are lovely views out through the door which opens up into the pool and terrace area. The kitchen is large and fully equipped with modern appliances; oven, stove, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. The design has a rustic feel to it and terracotta colours give a homely warmth. There is a breakfast bar in the centre of the kitchen. On the lower ground floor there is a utility room with a washing machine and WC. Across the hallway of the ground floor the owners have installed a rustic wine cellar so typical of old Istrian houses. It is a real time capsule with old wine barrels, excellent regional wines, grappa, prosciutto, olive oil and cheeses where you can enjoy an authentic Croatian experience if you so wish. In fact the owners produce their own wine and prize-winning olive oil. Traditionally, this has been not just a wine store, but a proper home "tavern" where people entertained guests. Thus you can consider it to be your second dining room, or in-house restaurant!

Ground floor

On this floor there are three bedrooms. The bedrooms are all furnished with great eye for detail and have good quality sheets. The wooden floors give a feeling of warmth. Plenty of towels are provided in the en-suite bathrooms. The first bedroom is a double room with an en-suite shower room and the second is a twin bedroom with a shower en-suite. The other bedroom is a double with a patio door, balcony and an en-suite bathroom with a hand held shower. There are a table and chairs on the balcony.

First floor

On the top floor there is one last double bedroom. It is a large bright room with a beautiful antique chest of drawers and a separate area to hang clothes. The en-suite bathroom has a bath and a hand held shower.

ANNEX (sleeps 6 max)

The annex is accessed externally, i.e. there are no internal doors between the main house and the annex.

Ground floor and first floor

The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, stove, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and dishwasher. There is a breakfast bar and a dining table seating six, in the centre of the room. There is also a large cream and brown sofa to the side of the kitchen. Large doors lead out of the kitchen to the outside spaces. The living area located on the first floor has a large comfortable cream L-shaped sofa with orange cushions coordinating with the curtains. There is a large coffee table, a fireplace and a flat screen satellite TV with DVD player. There is also a separate WC on this floor with WC, washbasin and washing machine.

Second and third floors

The second floor twin bedroom is a light and airy room. There are great views out to the hills and countryside. There is an en-suite shower room with plenty of towels provided. On the top floor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Again it is a beautifully furnished room; with an antique dresser and lovely high ceilings with characterful beams across the ceilings.

Outside

Outside there is a large infinity pool surrounded by a sundeck. There are also plenty of outdoor lights so the facilities of the villa are still very much usable at night. To the side of the pool there is a covered eating area with a large table and summer kitchen/ barbecue area. It contains a built-in barbecue, bread-oven, fridge, and sink. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool. Other garden furniture includes a sun umbrella, table and chairs. There is a children's playground and a table tennis.
