“ Unser Aufenthalt in Merisce war für unsere ganze Familie toll - unsere Kids lieben das Meer, Kroatien heisst Hunde sehr willkommen und wir haben die Landschaft genossen! Das Haus ist sehr abgelegen, sodass man mehr Ruhe hat, man kommt allerdings schnell überall hin. Wir haben es absolut nicht bereut, sondern jeden Abend den Weitblick genossen und runter auf Kanegra geschaut, wo man unserer Meinung nach den besten Hundestrand in der Gegend hat. Das Haus ist wirklich sehr komplett ausgestattet und man vermisst dort nichts. Wer dort ein paar Tage oder wie wir Wochen verbringt, der sollte sich unbedingt einmal zu Rondo nach Buje wagen (toller Wein, tolles Essen und erstklassiger Service) oder eine Pizza mit eigenem Bier im San Servolo versuchen. Laida hat uns bei allen Fragen schnell und unkompliziert unter die Arme gegriffen - wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.
Translation: Our stay in Merisce was fantastic for the entire family - our kids love the sea, Croatia is very welcoming to dogs and we enjoyed the countryside! The house is very remote, so you have more peace, but you can get everywhere quickly. We have absolutely no regrets, but enjoyed the view every evening and looked down at Kanegra, where we think you have the best dog beach in the area. The house is really fully equipped and you don't miss anything there. If you're staying there for a few days or like us, weeks, be sure to venture into Buje for Rondo (great wine, great food, and top-notch service) or try a pizza with their own beer at San Servolo.

Liebevoll renoviertes Haus
“ Perfekter ruhiger Ort mit Traumblick aufs Meer. Das Steinhaus liegt in einem winzigen Dorf, ca. 12km vom Meer entfernt. Die Vermieterin bietet eine perfekte Beschreibung und viele Tips für die Umgebung an. Das Haus ist liebevoll renoviert und detailgetreu eingerichtet. Man hat zu jeder Tageszeit einen atemberaubenden Blick aufs Meer und die Umgebung, teils sieht man bis Venedig. Das Meer mit diversen Stränden, ebenso wie die bekannten Bergdörfer oder auch die Kvarner Bucht sind schnell erreichbar. Wir waren zur Hauptsaison da. Während in den Küstenorten alles stark überlaufen war, fand man in der Steinvilla einen perfekten Rückzugsort für Ruhe und Erholung. Wir hatten noch nie eine so saubere Ferienunterkunft. Die Klimaanlage im Hochsommer war sehr angenehm. Einzig schade, dass kein Pool beim Haus dabei ist. Insgesamt aber absolut empfehlenswert!

Everything you need and is beautifully restored
“ Casa Celestina liegt auf einem kleinem Hügel, in einem Dorf mit 11 Einwohnern. Dementsprechend ruhig und erhholsam ist es hier Urlaub zu machen, für uns sogar sehr friedvoll und entspannend. Die Sicht und der Blick nach Slowenien und aufs Meer ist ein Traum, der Garten für unsere Tochter sowieso. Das Haus ist absolut perfekt ausgestattet - wie beschrieben- und wunderschön restauriert. Das Ein-und Auschecken war sehr angenehm und unkompliziert, die Informationen von Laida und Nigel mehr als genau - einfach nur super! Wir kommen gerne wieder!
Casa Celestina is situated on a hill in a small village with 11 inhabitants. We had a very tranquil and relaxed holiday. The view to Slovenia and the sea are stunning and the garden has been a dream come true for our daughter. The villa is absolutely perfect and beautifully restored. Check-in and check-out was easy and straight forward and all information given by Laida and Nigel was spot on and absolutely fabulous. We would love to come back. ”

Perfect place to get away from it all
“ Casa Celestina is the perfect place to get away from it all. But it still is in Istria, a beautiful Italian region -history has made it Croatia but the few neigbours speak and feel Italian- with everything you need to spend a great summer holiday.Merisce, the village, is just a few houses. We saw a few people only...and they go to bed early. By 10pm nothing moves, nothing whistles. Not even the sound of an AC. Paradise for those who hate noise.
The house is fully equipped. And by that I mean fully. Unlike other rentals, where you do not even find your toilet paper, Casa Celestina is managed by people who care about visitors. Everything is there for you and in abundance. The management knows its job and may these lines recognise their profesionalism. Perfect house for 2 people, there is just one room, upstaris, beautiful room. Bathroom a bit small for my taste, shower has a curtain which makes it uncomfortable and somehow démodé. But other than that the equipment is up to date, decoration simple but nice, everything is clean, new...
The views from the house are great. Nothing between you and the Slovenian valley and sea below. When night comes and temperature falls you can open the doors out to nature and it feels great. AC works well during the day. Overall, great place. As for the area, the main problem is when you get to the beach. First because beaches are rather disappointing -a Spaniard has high standards I guess- and worst than that because there are far too many tourists. Much more than we expected -our fault, obviously-. Tons of Germans all over. And they did not seem poorly nourished. A few miles back into the hills and you got your peace of mind back. But yes, we would come back. Casa Celestina is a fantastic place. Oh, and never saw better information pack than the one we got from the people that run the place. Real professionals as I said. We'll definetely work with them again. ”

“ We spent a wonderful week at Casa Celestina. If you want the real Istrian countryside, charming local wineries and konobas, and a small town (Buje) without t-shirt and postcard stalls, this is the place. The Casa itself was an adventure to find, but once settled we spent every moment we could on the lovely terrace. It has been beautifully renovated and was more than comfortable for two. I thankful could be accommodated fairly easily. We greatly enjoyed exploring the hill towns throughout Istria from this vantage. This was the highlight of our seven week trip to Slovenia and Croatia and we're already planning a return. ”

“ The villa was lovely thank you and we really enjoyed our stay after visiting Bologna, Trieste and Ljubljana - the peace and quiet was much appreciated.
Parking wasn't easy but we put the car in an adjacent spot which nobody appeared to mind.
Bit scary finding a live black scorpion on the stairs but I caught it and put it in the garden!
The wild deer and boars outside the veranda were lovely!
The restaurants were all superb! And very good value after Italy and Slovenia.

Casa Celestina is beautifully renovated, very comfortable, ideally located in rural Istria, and with a view we will long remember. It remains the highlight of our seven week Slovenia and Croatia adventure. Very comfy for two, but fourfold work as well. The immediate area has good restaurants and konobas, exceptional wineries and lovely small hilltop towns to explore. We loved our stay.

Perfect Romantic Get-Away
“ We cannot praise Casa Celestina enough! It is perfect for a romantic get-away. The condition of the property was brilliant - better than we could of expected. The kitchen is wonderful, the living area downstairs comfortable and the bedroom/balcony with it's stunning view is breathtaking. The house is set within a tiny hilltop village surrounded by olive groves and vineyards - coming from London we were struck by the absolute quiet and serenity of the place. I cannot recommend this place enough. No complaints whatsoever. The all important air-con is very effective. ”
