Introduction

Gorgeous stone villa full of charm and character in one of the prettiest places, only 30 seconds to the beach

What we say

We love Ston and Mali Ston. Go there before the crowds discover this beautiful historic village, heaven for oyster lovers, foodies and culture vultures. Lots of small bars and cafes in neighbouring Ston and offers one of the best gourmet experiences in Croatia. Close to Dubrovnik, great place to visit, Cavtat, and Mostar. The food and wine street and cinema festival happens in early September. A villa to stay at if you are looking for a garden and a large pool and still be near the beach... and so much more to say!

OVERVIEW

Villa Mimosa is an elegant stone built house located in the picturesque community of Mali Ston, a fortified medieval town just 40 minutes drive from Dubrovnik and less than an hour from Dubrovnik airport. With the help of local architects and craftsmen this exclusive villa has been tastefully renovated to create luxury accommodation for six to eight people. The villa stands in a beautifully landscaped garden of 800 square metres. The garden rises in terraces offering a variety of secluded areas for relaxing and sun bathing, and incorporates a swimming pool, 9 metres x 4.5 metres, sun bathing terraces, a shady terrace under a pergola and a barbecue area.

The villa is situated about 100 metres from the water's edge in an elevated position with views to the sea and across the town and the castle walls. Within only a few minutes walk of local restaurants the villa is in a secluded and quiet location well away from the sound of traffic. The villa sleeps six in three rooms (two double one twin) with the possibility of sleeping a seventh person on a fold out bed in the main bedroom or two extras on a bed-settee in the lounge. Interior furnishings are to the highest standard. The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, a fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven.

We had a lovely stay at Mimosa

We had a lovely stay at Mimosa. Weather was very warm but my grandchildren enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the shade with a good book. Your directions were excellent and we enjoyed some of the less formal restaurants in Ston whose menus suited the youngsters more than the fancier menus in Mali Ston.

House was well equipped and comfortable.

Mrs Maruscha. “Hope that spelling is correct” was delightful as was her mother who supplied some cakes. Overall we were delighted with our holiday and we give you 5 from 5.  My bed was super comfortable and the air conditioning excellent and very welcome

Many thanks,  you have a very nice house!

We had a fantastic holiday

We had a fantastic holiday -

When we arrived in the right place, our reaction was wow.  We loved the villa layout, the pool was great and it was so peaceful, exactly what we wanted.

For us the area was perfect although whenever we went out to eat, it was always in Ston as the prices at Mali Ston restaurants were a bit over the top. Ston was ideal for everything we needed and we got on very well with a guy named Vlatko at one of the bars. He was so helpful and friendly.

We took your advice and visited Prapratno beach - had some lovely times down there and made a point of being there by 8am.  The sea was crystal clear and not at all cold.

Our pool days were peaceful and very relaxing too apart from all the insects that come hand in hand with the wonderful garden you have there,

Marushka was adorable - so helpful and she baked us a cake too.

All in all, a wonderful way to celebrate our 10th anniversary and I would recommend it to anyone - having a car is essential though and we were glad we had that for the whole time.

Our three generational family has been to villa Mimosa three times. We will come again. The garden, the comfortable villa, the huge pool and great restaurants are of exceptional standard. Loved Dubrovnik, the nearby islands and the authentic Mediterranean Peljesac peninsula and the boat trips which were the highlight each time. Aircon and a large private parking space were a great bonus.

Gorgeous villa, short stroll the beach

Gorgeous villa a couple of minutes away from the beach and two outstanding harbour side restaurants. We stayed in Villa Mimosa in August 22 and had an amazing holiday. The villa is superbly equipped and has a fantastic, large pool and a beautiful garden. There was plenty of seating and space for six people and the second sofa in the large living room provided a comfortable extra double bed for two adults, so eight people can be accommodated without a problem. Part of the garden and terraces is tastefully fenced off  so small children could not get to the pool without supervision. The focal point for all of us was a large outdoor dining table where we could eat all our meals.  A wisteria canopy shaded the terraces which was always cool to relax in. All around the garden there were outdoor seats where we could sit and enjoy a quiet moment.

About location:

The villa is within easy reach of Dubrovnik, which is a must see, and we had an unforgettable trip in the speedboat to the nearby islands where we swam in a warm and clear sea. Sandy beach is within 5 min drive  and in the nearby town of Ston we could do all our shopping and enjoy local food which was reasonably priced. It is a very historic area with great natural beauty. Our family loved it and will go again.

Mali Ston

Dubrovnik Airport is 1 hour drive from Mali Ston. An alternative is to fly to Split Airport and drive the 3 hours down the spectacular coast road, or the slightly quicker route down the inland motorway, from Split to Mali Ston. For travellers with some time to spare, the Split option provides the chance to visit Diocletian’s Palace in the centre of Split or take a full day detour on the southerly route by crossing by ferry to Supetar on the island of Brac and returning from Sumartin at the southern end of the island to Makarska on the mainland.

Dubrovnik Airport

Dubrovnik Airport is located near the town of Cavtat 19km to the south of Dubrovnik. There are direct flights to Dubrovnik from most European countries and from Philadelphia in the USA.

There are bus and taxi services into Dubrovnik centre. A taxi transfer can be expected to cost around 35 to 40 euro one way depending on the time of day and the season and a minibus around 50-60 euros.   A shuttle bus service from the airport to Dubrovnik is 7.5 euro per person each way.

Croatian Villa Holidays can arrange taxi transfers directly to your villa.

Split Airport

Split Airport is located to the west of Split close to the town of Trogir. It is 25 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry port in Split although you should allow longer in mid summer.
