Getting to Vis Island

Vis island is one of the most distant of the central Dalmatian islands and although getting there takes a little longer you won't be disappointed when you arrive.

Fly to Split and from there hire a car at the airport to take the car ferry to Vis or taxi to the ferry port. It is a 25 minute drive from the airport to Split ferry port but you must allow longer in the busy summer months.

The car ferry (Jadrolinija line 602) sales three times a day in the summer with departures at 09.00, 15.00 and 21.00 except Tuesdays when there are only two sailings. The crossing takes two hours 20 minutes. in peak season the cost for a one way ticket for a car and four passengers will be around €75.  Jadrolinija line 9602 is a foot passenger only catamaran departing once day late afternoon and the crossing takes one hour 25 minutes except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when the journey is longer as the ferry stops at Brac or Hvar islands en route. The ticket cost per head one way in high season is approximately €7.50 with children half price.

Croatian Villa Holidays can arrange a private taxi boat directly from the quay near Split airport to Vis island.  A private taxi boat transfer from Split Airport to Vis town will cost around €850 but we will need to quote for you as prices will depend on date, time and the numbers in your party.
