Getting to Pag Island

Pag island is easily accessible as it is linked to the mainland by a bridge as well as by a car ferry connection from Prizna to Žigljen at the northwest end of the island.

The closest airport is Zadar Airport. Zadar airport to the bridge onto Pag island is 37km and to Pag town 58km or about 55 minutes drive time.

Another option is to fly to Split Airport. The road journey from Split Airport to the bridge onto Pag island is 140km or about 90 minutes' drive time with a scenic motorway much of the way.

If travelling from the north, down the motorway from Zagreb or Rijeka, the Prizna to Žigljen car ferry may be your best route particularly if you are heading for the north west end of the island, for example to Novalja or Lun. It is operated by Jadrolinja (line 335). The ferry runs 21 times a day every hour from around 4am to midnight and the crossing takes 15 minutes. Travellers should note that this crossing can be very busy with long delays at times when there are music festivals at the popular venue of Zrce. The cost for a car and a family of four will be around €22 each way.

Jadrolinja also run a foot passenger only catamaran (line 9309) from Rijeka via Rab island to Novalja on Pag island. The crossing takes 2 hours 40 minutes and runs daily departing at 17.00 in the summer season (but check the website to confirm times). This route would work if you have spent the first part of your holiday in Istria or if you have flown into Rijeka airport.
